Crushed by K.C. Blake

The Noah sisters rule Titan High with their beauty, brains, and magical powers.

Each year they play a secret game: Crushed. The girls pick their targets carefully and blow enchanted dust into the boy’s faces, charming them, but this year Kristen makes a grave mistake. She chooses the wrong boy and almost dies that same day. Coincidence? Maybe.

But something isn’t quite right about Zach Bevian. He doesn’t behave like a boy who’s been Crushed. He goes from hot to cold, from looking at her with contempt to asking her out on a date. She doesn’t know what to think. Does he hate her or is he truly falling for her? Is he trying to kill her, or is he trying to save her?

I read one of K.C.'s other books called Vampires Rule earlier this year, when I saw that she had this book available on Smashwords I decided to check it out as well. It did take me some time to get to with the massive stack of books in my TBR pile. But when I did, I read through it in a day. It was so refreshing after some of the really high angsty drama filled books I have read this year.
The characters were fantastic! I loved each and every one of them. Kristen's sisters are beautiful twins and they all 3 like to play a game every school year getting a guy to crush on them by using a magic spelled powder, getting the boy to perform silly unreasonable things to try to gain points in this game with some very impressive winnings.
The twins are not only witches, but Witches you don't want to cross. Kristen's decided on a spur of the moment decision to crush on one of the popular boys to show that she can be dangerous, they usually crush on the less popular easy to control boys. But almost immediately she regrets her decision and it makes the game harder and almost impossible for her to play as a result.
I was tickled with all the twists and how the characters all came into play. There are still a lot of emotions going on here, anger, love, friendship and protection of others, but it was very well written and sucked me in.
I found the twists in the story very entertaining and really did not see them coming, which is always a fantastic treasure find when you read alot.
I loved Vampire's Rule just as much as this one and going to move Werewolves
Rule up my reading stack, so keep tuned to the blog for more on this author, I love her stuff so please check her out.
